About Our EasyMath Tool. It's EASY!

Our Easy Math tool is intended as a general estimator for power production based on inputs for a specific install site or intended application for use of our SolAir hybrid wind/solar generator. It is intended as a general education tool as a "best guess" estimator and only actual conditions at any intended Job/Install site can be used as a true indicator of actual production numbers.

The first step is choosing a general install site. Use the pop down box to select an area relatively close to your intended installation site:

Your annual estimated kWh. An average household of 4 uses approximately 10000 kWh's a year. http://www.eia.gov/electricity/ You can find this information on your Utility bill and multiply your monthly use by 12 for your annual estimated consumption needs. This field can be edited to your specific energy use expectations:

Your estimated Cost Per kWh is calculated based on 2010 US EIA data - The map below demonstrates Base kWh pricing.

Your estimated Annual Wind Speeds is pulled from NOAA data on annual history wind conditions - An additional resource is the Wunderground Map - http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/

The next step is to Choose the # of SolAir generators to install at your site. You can use the next box below the "How many 1kW generators do you want to install?".

*Why 1kW? For most installs a SolAir in average wind conditions (around 10 to 14mph at rooftop) will only produce about 150 watts. But the turbines are capable of producing upwards of 2kW. For the purpose of this tool the math is done for you and we believe it fairly accurately estimates expected performance. But for the inverter equipment we need to know expected maximum conditions based on equipment to determine the size of inverter applicable to this guesstimated configuration. We choose middle ground of 1kW. This does not reflect in any way the exact amount of power to be expected.

Do you want to add in Solar Panels? Check the box to add in Solar based on the size of the install site. Simply uncheck the box to remove the solar additional equipment. You can modify the area for install by adjusting the available install site space: "Roof Length" & "Roof Width". Installing solar will not affect the space for your SolAir turbine units - They simply install along the same track system.

By default the system will choose an inverter cost that might apply to your criteria. There is space in the "Suggested Equipment" section to add in 2 other know equipment line items such as Controller, Batteries, Enclosures, Pumps, etc... Installation and permitting fees are estimated based on primary equipment and could be considered "worse case" in most areas. From this data the total price is estimated for your system less tax and any applicable incentives and/or discounts.

Does the Federal Tax Incentive apply? 99% of the time Yes. Simply check this box to apply the incentive.

Discounts. If they apply add them in. Enter a Dollar Amount in the available box.

That was easy, You are done!

How to read the results?

1. Estimated Years to Positive Return: this indicates based on the information your entered the amount of time it will take to break even on your investment and includes both energy production and your consumption.
2. Your Total Current Estimated Annual Utility Costs: this is "YOUR" current cost of energy that you pay today without a system in place. It will display as an Expense.
3. Estimate Annual kWh produced by New Equipment: Exactly as stated calculated against your local estimated utility costs.
4. Annual difference: the amount of positive or negative cash flow difference between the amount of energy your consume and the amount of energy produced by your estimated SolAir units.

Wind and Solar Site Evaluation Tables. To the Left are two tables one that displays Solar site data and one that displays Wind site data. This data is extracted from NOAA wind/solar history conditions and then projected with power production expectations based on the equipment you have chosen. On top of each table is a site review comment that makes all this simple to understand. good, bad, poor, or excellent are some of the high tech available summaries.
